Spark an Interest in Technology, Computer Science, and Engineering
Boolean Girl is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to diversifying STEM by teaching and inspiring girls, low-income students, and underrepresented youth in grades three to eight through meaningful, hands-on instruction and sustained exposure to computer science and engineering in a collaborative and welcoming environment.
We worked with Virginia Tech Thinkabit Labs K-20 STEM Education and Workforce Development Programs to create our micro:bit Kits. micro:bit Kits include a micro:bit microcontroller and components to connect devices like lights and motors. We also offer Sensor and Motion kits for more creativity and innovation.
In addition to the free or low-cost micro:bit Kits we provide to schools through our micro:bit for All program, we sell these kits to help fund our many programs aimed at bringing STEM education to children and groups that are often underrepresented in fields such as coding and engineering. micro:bit Kits can be used at home for self-learning with free online challenges on our website and the micro:bit website. All funds from micro:bit Kit sales go directly to funding these programs.
